Here is the lowdown from the organisers:


"Lady Meux will be opening the Dauntsey Feast next Friday in full Victorian regalia. A book was published last year about her extraordinary life and we have copies for sale and also as prizes. She has also been written about TODAY by the BBC as one of 7 most eccentric Brits, and she lived here in the village at Dauntsey Park House. Come to the Feast and listen to Lady Meux talking about her elephants and tigers, her cursed Egyptian mummies and her beloved banjo and how having been 'an entertainer' of sorts she secretly married one of Britain most eligible bachelors, a baronet, and became the most talked about woman in society at the time, for all the wrong reasons. She deserves a Bridgerton-style series of her own..."
